Everton Away - Pressure on Ole

A loss in the Champions League that too against a weaker (considered as) side and inconsistent performance from the team this season was sure a talking point. Managing Manchester United is in itself a pressure and adding on to it was the pressure of the management reaching for an alternative is sure a lot of pressure. Saturday's game was one for the team to save their manager. Ole's tactical knowledge, riding on vibes were all making rounds in the media.

First half

Toffees were not doing great as well with Richarlison still on the sideline the right flank for now seems to be less of a danger for Bissaka. Again, a goal that was conceded way too early, an uneasy norm in the recent matches and then chasing for most part for ManUtd. This time around, the chase wasn't for too long, twenty fifth minute it was, Shaw delivers a good cross and Bruno with the header. Its been a while since a good cross from that flank. Shaw's forward movement and the crosses were under some scrutiny off late. One more by Bruno which looked as if Rashford had a touch, but that does not matter for ManUtd as far as the goal stands. With a lead before the end of the half, it was relief for Ole.

Second half

Slightly nervy for the fans, even though United had the lead, one moment of madness in the defence or a moment of brilliance for the Toffees will tilt the game in their favour. With Ole's job at stake, the team was sensible enough to hold on until a suitable time for pegging on more into the Toffees net. Bruno was unselfish in the closing minutes, with a pass to Cavani to open his tally and 3 - 1in favour of the reds it was in the end.

A good defensive performance, hopefully a consistent one throughout the season is probably what the manager is hoping for. Too much shuffling in the midfield is one more problem that Manchester United is facing, and looks like Pogba is slowly becoming irrelevant in the middle. Donny is yet to fit into the thick of things. Will the signing end up being a disappointment is yet to be seen. Ole's tactics are revolving around increase and decrease in offensive and defensive midfielders. His tactics against bigger teams has only been a very defensive with rotating the ball in the midfield.

The beginning blues for the RED side

Theatre of Dreams I have heard of it, but never made it to the 'Theatre of Dreams', fans from other Clubs would be envious about not only in England but beyond, of this beautiful fortress. Unfortunately this fortress been breached more that the share that would be tolerated by its Fans.  Sir Alex has for sure left a void but things have to move on and the next legend is what the fans across the world are looking for. No one is bigger than the club, but if you are chosen to play for this club, you better be prepared for an attitude that comes along with the culture that is second to none. Home game Vs Crystal Palace The line up did surprise me a bit, James or Greenwood. I preferred Greenwood, of course he was in the news for all wrong reasons but the boy needs to change things and what best, than a good game to shift focus. But Ole had other thoughts, probably to protect him.  A make shift defence for the visiting team was a huge plus for us and of course home ground (not ...

Chelsea in Old Trafford

A big match, both the defence were under scrutiny for sometime now. A good outing last week against New Castle and a good midweek Champions league game against PSG a welcome release for Ole. Confidence for Reds but should not get into over confidence is what all United Fans will be hoping for. On the other hand Chelsea had a good outing and confidence soaring as well. Two home defeats on the trout was a worry for the Reds. Nervy and tentative first half Trusted eleven is what Ole had gone with switching back to the four at the back. Packed midfield and probably the heat map would be showing completely red in the middle of the park and slightly on the Chelsea half. With both the teams having phase upfront, the midfield was looking for an error from reach other. Last seven to ten min saw some brisk phase but other wise a very tentative first half.  Should have looked up a little bit more missing out on swift passes and the missed chance from Rashford.  Work rate from McTominay a...

Against Bielsa's Leads at Home

Almost the same quad from last season but with a higher level of confidence, two decent signings and the players with a fresh mindset. The mindset is definitely on the up...the crowds are in and the football sound is on. We all know how well Leads play, with their attacking mindset but with a touch of strategic class from Bielsa.  The lads seem to be a lot more confident with most of them having a good outing for their respective countries. Maguire and Shaw have made the two position their own. Lindelof's getting the captain's arm band for his country puts him in a much better state of mind. Wan Bissaka his usual self. McTominay, Fred occupying the middle Pogba flanking the left and Dan James on the right. Bruno attacking from the middle with Greenwood upfront.  Greenwood showing some good intent, Dan James better than last year but has more work to do apart from managing his phase. Pogba a shadow of himself when it comes to finishes but his assists are of course right up ther...
